Fr Vaughan Leslie
I am Fr. Nathaniel T. Brazil, a priest of the Diocese of Palmerston North. I migrated to New Zealand from the Philippines back in 2011. I did my training for priestly ministry at Holy Cross Seminary, Auckland and Immaculate Conception Seminary, Bulacan, Philippines. Bishop Charles Drennan ordained me to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood, on May 16, 2015 at St. Peter Chanel Parish in Hastings. I spent the first years of my ministry at the Catholic Parish of Hastings as assistant priest.
Priesthood is a special way of serving God and his people. And I always remember the words of St. John Paul II, that a life with Christ is a wonderful adventure, and so I believed that serving Christ through the Sacramental Priesthood is a wonderful adventure. As a priest my goal is to bring People closer to Christ and facilitate that encounter, and by doing that I know that the people also are leading me closer to Him.
Whanganui has always been a special place to me, I spent my first winter here back in 2011 for 3 months with Msgr. Bell, Fr. John, and Pa Steve. As a young priest I am honoured and excited to be serving, journeying and living in this vibrant parish.
My you always encounter Christ in the daily events of your life.
God Bless you and may the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady always intercede for you.
