In the Church's Faith, Baptism is one of a group of three interconnected sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist - called the Sacrements of Initiation.

The Sacraments of Inititiation fit together like pieces of a jigsaw.  God's action of spiritual rebirth - begun in Baptism - is completed when the person receives the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

Jesus gave his Church the power to baptize.  He told his disciples: "Go make disciples of all nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit..."(Matthew 28:19)

By choosing to have your child baptised, you are giving your child the best possible gift: a beginning in the Life of faith, and membership in the family of God.  You are starting one off on a journey towards eternal life.  You are agreeing to help your child fulfill his or her true potential and help them get to know God.  This will include teaching them to pray, go to Mass and prepare for other Sacraments.

Please fill out a baptism enrolment form and drop it into the Parish Office so we can start planning this Initiation into our Community  Baptism-enrolment-form

If you are planning on having your baptism outside of the Mass, you will need to choose a reading and some prayers.  We encourage you to write some prayers yourself - use the examples in the booklet for ideas.  This makes it personal to your family on such a special day.  Suggested readings and prayers for Baptism Booklet

Currently we do not run baptismal classes on a set date. We prefer to speak informally about baptism and what  baptism means. so give us a call and we can provide more information.
